Grass Valley, CA : "Anna May Wong ~ Frosted Yellow Willows: Her Life, Times and Legend" - screening





On Sunday, September 13, 2009, we will feature a documentary on the Chinese-American Hollywood Legend, Anna May Wong, who graced the silver screen from the silent era in the 1920’s to the 1960’s. She was the first Asian to achieve national and international acclaim. Her career included movies with Douglas Fairbanks and Marlene Dietrich. Experience the heartfelt confines of her culture and her uphill climb to stardom. We will be showing “Anna May Wong ~ Frosted Yellow Willows: Her Life, Times and Legend” at the Center for the Arts in Grass Valley at 2:00 p.m., and the producer and director Elaine Mae Woo, will be in attendance. The film is narrated by Nancy Kwan, star of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s’ “Flower Drum Song” in 1961.
