ANNA MAY WONG ~ FROSTED YELLOW WILLOWS and Other Updates

We have been very busy and haven't been able to post onto our Blog for a while.  What have we been doing?

We have been doing extensive research on Miss Anna May Wong, James Wong Howe, and other Asians involved with early film.  So far, the  2013 acquisition of rare photographs, magazines ( late-1910s -1970s), newspaper articles and other related period documents would put smiles on our Asian Pioneers in cinema.  We have been fortunate enough to obtain materials predominately during the silent film period which is also our main focus.  Our AMW~FYW II Team have been working very diligently in translating and identifying much of the addition to the Collection.

Our thanks to the many supporters of our endeavor since we started our initial project in 1997.  Since then, the interest and appreciation of Asians and Asian Americans in early cinematic history has grown immensely.  Their contributions as well as they themselves are slowly being recognized.

Anna May Wong ~ Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

I want to bring attention to the fact that May is "Asian Pacific American Heritage Month".  Anna May Wong and the many other Asian pioneers that helped to trail-blaze and open doors of opportunity for the APA people of today should be remembered and "thanked".  Appreciate and recognized these past generations who lived through trying times in America's history.
